Emil Frey AG: Opel import in Eastern Europe

GROWTH Car king Walter Frey continues to expand his car dealership business. Emil Frey AG took over Opel's import activities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia on September 1, 2019. Opel says it imports 12,000 cars and light commercial vehicles a year. Walter Frey also takes over Opel's import business in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Emil Frey employs around 22,000 people, including 3,711 in its home market of Switzerland (AGVS chart).

Opel is talking about 12,000 imported passenger cars and light commercial vehicles per year. According to estimates by the "Handelszeitung" newspaper, the purchase is expected to generate sales of around CHF 400 million for the family-owned company.

European car dealer no. 1
The total turnover of the Emil Frey Group is therefore likely to exceed eleven billion Swiss francs; the Swiss share is 2.1 billion Swiss francs.
In spring 2017, Emil Frey AG made the leap to the top of the European independent car dealer league with the acquisition of 275 Porsche Holding Salzburg garage outlets with branches in France, the Netherlands, Poland and Belgium.
