The interior is particularly sporty, but remains functional.

As in the sedan, the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with up to 450 kW (612 hp) and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive ensure ultimate performance. To further improve the engine's performance and responsiveness, two twin-scroll turbochargers have been installed for the first time. They reduce exhaust backpressure and optimize throttle response. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 (S variant) or 3.6 s sets a new class benchmark. Thanks to standard cylinder deactivation, the engine is even more efficient than before. For the first time, fully variable torque distribution to the front and rear axles optimizes traction in all road conditions, and an automated multi-clutch 9-speed sports transmission ensures short shift times. To improve traction and driving dynamics, the base model has a mechanical and the S variant an electronically controlled rear-axle limited-slip differential. The top speed can be raised to 290 km/h on request.

On the outside, the racing estate has been spiced up with all kinds of visual ingredients, for example the 27 mm wider wheel arches create space for larger wheels on the front axle. Inside, the sports station wagon boasts numerous individual details. AMG performance seats with integrated head restraints can be ordered as an option, and in the S variant the interior has been further refined with, among other things, leather nappa upholstery for the instrument panel and trim, as well as seat belts in gray and a steering wheel with gray 12 o'clock markings.

Even more exclusivity in the E 63 S 4MATIC+ Estate "Edition 1
From market launch, the particularly exclusively equipped "Edition 1" is available for around a year. Two special paint finishes, light gray stripes over the side sill trim and 20-inch forged wheels in a 7-twin-spoke design are standard. The interior features performance seats in black nappa leather with yellow topstitching. To match, the sports steering wheel, instrument panel top, door panels, center console, floor mats and IWC-design analog clock feature yellow accents. The sports steering wheel in black microfiber features "Edition 1" lettering and a black 12 o'clock mark.
The two Performance T models will make their world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017, with the sales release taking place in April 2017 and the market launch beginning in June 2017.
