Diesel: Good values with current engines
IT DOES WORK Current diesel engines that comply with the current Euro 6d-TEMP emissions regulations significantly reduce air pollution caused by particulates and nitrogen oxides. This is the result of a study of 270 new diesel vehicles conducted by the European Automobile Manufacturer's Association (ACEA). This is the result of a study of 270 new diesel vehicles conducted by the European Automobile Manufacturer's Association (ACEA). The values were determined using the new Real Driving Emissions (RDE) test cycle, in which exhaust gases are collected and analyzed while driving on normal roads.
More than 1200 models fall below limit values
The values now determined show that the pollutants are safely below the limit values. Most even fall below the values that will only come into effect with the next tightening of the EU standards. The 270 models in the test are part of vehicle families, which means that the ACEA result can be extended to many more vehicles on offer. The German Automobile Association assumes that there are more than 1200 models on offer today that also fall below the limit values. And their number is constantly increasing.
