Which types of cars the secret agent drove in the last almost 60 years is the subject of this special exhibition, which has never been seen before in Switzerland.

Successful film series
He's extroverted, has a soft spot for beautiful women and exclusive toys, and he's good-looking, too: James Bond. But what kind of car does a man like that drive? It has to be fast, elegant and expensive. In addition, all modifications that make the agent's everyday life easier are welcome. The first Bond official car in history was still a simple sports car: a Sunbeam Alpine. The most casual of all agent cars hit the big screen in 1964 in the third film. In "Goldfinger," which was filmed in central Switzerland among other locations, James Bond drives an Aston Martin DB 5 for the first time - to this day the epitome of the Bond car. Aston Martin vehicles have appeared time and again over the years - three of them are on display at the special show in Oftringen, including the legendary DB5.

Connection to Switzerland
007 also had to escape in a tuk tuk in a spectacular way (Octopussy, 1983). In Switzerland, only a few of these autorickshaws drive around, so it's all the nicer that one enriches the exhibition. Much connected the James Bond film series with Switzerland: the Bernese Ursula Andress (now 81) became the first Bond girl in 1962. The most popular Bond, Roger Moore, lived for decades first in Gstaad, then in Crans Montana, where he died this year at the age of 89. During filming in the Bernese Oberland, the future ski world champion Bernhard Russi (68) literally risked his neck as a stuntman (for 150 francs a day), fell, broke his seventh cervical vertebra and was then hospitalized for three months.

Six exhibits
For the special exhibition it was possible to win six cars, which correspond to the models used in the films and the same year of production. It is important to know in this context that certain cars (such as the Aston Martin DB 10) were built only for one film, others were scrapped during filming or sank in Lake Garda (Quantum of Solace, 2008). The originals are in museums (London, Miami) or were auctioned for millions. Anyone who likes Agent 007 should not miss this special exhibition.
