BMW's new One Series will be launched in July and comes with a host of new features.

The new edition of the "BMW 1 Series" will be launched in July 2017 and will be offered as a 3- and 5-door model. More than two million vehicles of the series have been sold worldwide to date, of which around 960,000 vehicles are accounted for by the current model generation.

Visually renewed
According to the manufacturer, dynamic contours, a striking kidney, a long hood and a sporty, elegant rear ensure the typical look of the new 1 Series. With new edition models, which will be offered in the future as Edition Sport Line Shadow, Edition M Sport Shadow and BMW M140i Edition Shadow, BMW says it wants to emphasize the youthful, fresh, sporty appearance. These models are recognizable by their black-painted kidney frame, LED headlights with black inserts and darkened taillights, also featuring LED technology.

iDrive with new functions
The latest generation of the iDrive control system is standard in the new BMW One Series. The driver can use the controller to call up a wide range of vehicle, navigation and entertainment functions. Destination addresses for the navigation system can even be entered by handwriting on the integrated touchpad. In conjunction with the optional Professional navigation system, the central 8.8-inch display is designed as a touchscreen for the first time. Intelligent voice control is available as a third operating method. Even outside the vehicle, the driver always stays in touch with his vehicle with BMW Connected and Remote Services, controls the heating and ventilation, opens and locks the doors, and calls up vehicle-related information - conveniently via smartphone. Anyone who forgets the location of their vehicle can view it on a map in BMW Connected. Alternatively, the headlights can be flashed remotely to locate the vehicle in a large parking lot, for example.

Three, four or six?
A wide range of gasoline and diesel engines is available for the new BMW Einser, including three-, four- and six-cylinder models. With the exception of the 116d EfficientDynamics Edition and 118d xDrive, the eight-speed Steptronic transmission is available for all models in addition to the six-speed manual transmission. The gasoline models range from the 118i with three-cylinder turbo and 100 kW/136 hp to the M Performance model M140 with inline six-cylinder engine (250 kW/340 hp). State-of-the-art engine technology is also available for the diesel models: the power spectrum starts with the 116d, which delivers 85 kW/116 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Newton meters. The most powerful four-cylinder diesel engine is used in the new 125d with a max. output of 165 kW/224 hp.
