Voilà , here is the new Cupra Born: the prices and equipment at which the Born will be launched are not yet known, nor is the top speed.
Spanish temperament meets modern Catalan design. The electric speedster is being launched in three versions. The electric motor and rear-wheel drive system delivers an output of 110 kW (150 hp) in the basic version. The most powerful version has 170 kW (231 hp). Depending on the model version, the vehicle has a maximum range of 540 or 340 kilometers according to the WLTP test cycle.
Power transmission with a single-speed gearbox
One value that will appeal to friends of dynamic driving is the maximum 16,000 revolutions per minute. The power is transmitted by a single-speed gearbox. The optional e-boost equipment provides a special kick when driving.
The power output then increases to 170 kW. The Born sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. With the large battery pack, 77 instead of 58 kilowatt hours, it takes a full seven seconds due to the higher weight. Wider tires (235 millimeters) are available for the Cupra E-Boost in order to get the horsepower optimally onto the asphalt.
The core of the seats is made from recycled marine plastic
In the interior, the front seats are sports bucket seats. The core of the seats is made from recycled marine plastic.
A twelve-inch touch display in the center of the dashboard comes as standard. In terms of connectivity, the Born can be connected via the newly launched My Cupra app, for example to check the car's charge status on a smartphone. A head-up display with augmented reality will also be available.
100 kilometers range in seven minutes charging time
Fast charging of the batteries is possible with up to 125 kilowatts. According to the manufacturer, this provides a range of 100 kilometers in seven minutes of charging time.
With a length of around 4.30 meters, a width of 1.8 meters and a height of 1.5 meters, the Cupra has similar dimensions to the ID 3. The wheelbase is 2.77 meters, but the Born is up to two centimeters lower on the road.
