The Cupra e-Racer is the world's first purely electric touring car. It has now won the German Design Council's Automotive Brand Contest 2018 in the Concepts category.
Nobody is happier about this than the head of design at Cupra and Seat.
Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos: "This award is the first for the Cupra brand. It is recognition of the hard work and commitment of everyone involved at Cupra. The whole team can be very proud of this award."
World premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 2018
The design of the Cupra e-Racer is primarily focused on efficiency and speed. The electric touring car with up to 500 kW (680 hp) shines with its exceptional proportions: It is low, wide and has an extremely long wheelbase.
It had its world premiere last March in Geneva. The E-TCR, a special racing series for electric touring cars, is expected to be launched in 2020.
