Cupra: 270,000 ideas for the DarkRebel 🎥

FUTURE A few months ago, Cupra presented its first virtual show car in Metahype and called on people to develop the DarkRebel according to their own personal ideas and put it online.

 

More than 270,000 people use the design options via the Hyperconfigurator in the metaverse of the manufacturer - including brand ambassadors such as Alexia Putellas, Marc ter Stegen, Ansu Fati and Daniel Brühl (see gallery). Now, taking some of the ideas into account, the show car is to become reality. Cupra intends to incorporate all the configurations collected into the final design of the DarkRebel.

Brand is pure obsession

Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Cupra: "The DarkRebel is the brand's new provocation, created without the limits of the real world. This show car is for the next generation, designed by a tribe, not an individual. It's a rebel with a purpose, showing that electric cars can be sexy, emotional and even a bit shocking. I believe that Cupra is pure obsession. It's a brand created by people who are fascinated by what they do. The DarkRebel is proof of this passion, pushed to the limits."

Model for the new generation

The two countries with the most configurations are Spain and Germany, and Mexico and Turkey are also in the top ten. There is no information about Switzerland. 74 percent of the entries came from mobile devices - a clear sign for Cupra that the DarkRebel is a vehicle developed by and for the new generation.
