CES
Daimler Trucks is already incorporating partially automated driving functions into its production vehicles.

This was announced by Daimler's truck division at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas (until January 11, 2019) on the occasion of the world premiere of the new Freightliner Cascadia.

Partially automated driving functions
With Active Drive Assist (Mercedes-Benz Actros, Fuso Super Great) or Detroit Assurance 5.0 with Active Lane Keeping Assist (new Freightliner Cascadia), Daimler Trucks is now already bringing partially automated driving functions to its production vehicles. The new system can brake, accelerate and steer independently.

Acquisition of Mercedes-Benz Cars
Daimler Trucks is taking over developments from the Mercedes-Benz Cars division that are also suitable for the requirements of transport companies. The available Level 2 systems will be upgraded to Level 4. Currently, two sensors are in use in Level 2 vehicles - in the next development step at Level 4, there will be significantly more.
