"This pricing algorithm is a small revolution," says Matthias Gerber, CEO and founder of Carhelper. "The startup lived for a few months on manually collecting price quotes from garages. That was hard work."

Then suddenly came the breakthrough: the young founders of this company began to implement the technical knowledge they had acquired and developed their own pricing algorithm. This calculates the car service costs itself in a few seconds.

"We had to overcome a few hurdles," says Matthias Gerber. "First of all, it was a matter of gaining the trust of the garage owners and their willingness to publish the prices and pass them on to us."

Transparent comparison options
When the algorithm was put into operation, not only were new customers interested in Carhelper, but so were other garage owners. "They were suddenly happy not to have to write calculations themselves," says Gerber.

Today, this is an absolute novelty and helps drivers in the simplest way to compare prices for car service or maintenance work, such as brake or timing belt changes, and to book them directly via the platform - free of charge.

Auto service costs can be quickly queried on mobile or desktop.

Thanks to the price algorithm, the motorist thus benefits from transparent comparison options and can decide on the most suitable garage based on location, date, price, quality index or customer rating.

For Matthias Gerber, one thing is clear: "It's not just those who want to check prices in advance who can benefit from Carhelper." Anyone looking for a new regular garage, for example after a change of residence or in the vicinity of their employer, will find what they are looking for with Carhelper, without having to make time-consuming enquiries themselves."

Drivers only need to select their car and enter the current mileage.

AMAG and Basler Versicherung as investors
As was only announced today, Basler Versicherungen and AMAG are involved as active investors.

Further proof of how seriously the young company with an obviously great future is working.
