It is the most popular motorhome of all time: the Bulli with pop-up roof, known as the "California". Now VW Commercial Vehicles has transferred the concept to the Crafter and designed a California XXL with beds, kitchen, toilet and shower. When it will arrive is not yet certain. Marcel Schaffner, head of VW Commercial Vehicles in Switzerland, tells us that preparations are already underway at the importer. "We will be absolutely marketable in the segment in terms of price," he says with satisfaction, and assumes that between 400 and 550 units of the stately motorhome will be sold annually in Switzerland.

Much from the Crafter modular system
In terms of configuration, the most important options from the Crafter modular system will be available, such as 4Motion all-wheel drive and automatic transmission. Two adults and two children can sleep comfortably in the XXL (which, by the way, does not have a pop-up roof). So it's ideal, for example, for grandparents who still want to experience many adventures with their grandchildren.
