The Renault Captur is available as an E-Tech plug-in hybrid, and the Renault Clio as an E-Tech full hybrid.

The architecture of the E-Tech powertrain is built on the same concept as the Renault F1 Team's race cars, with an internal combustion engine, two electric motors and a central battery - coupled to an advanced, innovative multi-mode gearbox.

Reduction of fuel consumption
The Clio E-Tech with 140 hp has a 1.2 kWh battery (230V), which enables a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The reason: In urban traffic, the car can be driven in purely electric mode for around 80 percent of the driving time.

Electric driving in everyday life
In the Captur E-Tech Plug-in with 160 hp, the 9.8-kWh battery (400 V) and the charging port enable a range of up to 65 kilometers in purely electric drive mode, especially in urban traffic.

It thus combines all the advantages of pure electric driving in everyday use, while longer journeys can be enjoyed without recharging the battery.

Orders for the new hybrid models will start in Switzerland in February, with market launch from June 2020. Prices have not yet been set.
