The independent Swiss Institute for Quality Testing (SIQT) examined nine major service station providers in Switzerland. The services in various test areas were examined using the mystery shopping methodology.
Undercover testers visited the stations several times and tested them with different customer requests and questions on employee competence. BP emerged as the overall winner of the study with a score of 5.8, followed by Migrol and Socar.
Assessment of four categories
The test rating is made up of the following four categories, which were included in the overall rating with different weightings:
- Did the service station and store make a clean and well-kept impression?
- Did the store have a large selection of different product categories?
- Were the test customers treated in a friendly and courteous manner and did they receive competent advice?
- Was the quality and the preparation of the drinks and food impeccable?
Martin Thomsen, General Manager and Retail Operations Director of BP (Switzerland), is pleased with the results of the SIQT study.
Martin Thomsen: "Being the overall winner of an important test for BP is an excellent achievement. The fact that we even achieved the top score of 6 for the criteria of appearance and beverages and food is outstanding. I would like to thank the service station staff as well as my employees for their great efforts."
