smart 1
The smart vision EQ fortwo concept car was presented for the first time in Frankfurt and allows a glimpse into the future of mobility-as it might look.

The autonomously driving concept vehicle picks up its passengers directly at the desired location. The user recognizes that it is "his" vehicle with the help of innovative customization options via the black panel grill at the front and large projection surfaces at the sides.

Presentation at the IAA
With the electrically powered smart vision EQ fortwo, smart presented the still young product and technology brand EQ at the IAA which has just ended. By 2022, more than ten new electric cars are to go into series production at Mercedes-Benz Cars: from the smart to the large SUV. Since not only the users but also the general public will benefit if "urban traffic" becomes "city flow" in the future, cities and municipalities will also form a target group for future car sharing concepts.

Autonomous
Users don't have to search for the next available car - it finds them and picks up its passengers directly at the desired location. And thanks to swarm intelligence and the resulting prediction of the respective demand, it is probably already close by. There is no need to go to the "rental car." The networked vehicles are always on the road. Utilization is increasing, and at the same time traffic volumes and parking spaces in urban areas are decreasing. The vehicle is summoned via a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.

Electric
The smart vision EQ fortwo has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 30 kWh. When it is not in use, it automatically moves to a charging station to recharge. The car (length/width/height: 2,699/1,720/1,535 mm) is a two-seater and, like all smart cars, scores with maximum space in minimum space. The show car is the first vehicle from the Daimler Group to do without a steering wheel and pedals. Instead of a dashboard, a 24-inch red screen dominates.
