According to TCS, a car in Switzerland costs about 10,000 francs or 71 centimes per kilometer for a new price of 35,000 francs and around 15,000 kilometers driven per year.
Andrea Auer, comparis.ch mobility expert: "This includes fixed costs, such as traffic tax, insurance and vehicle maintenance. But variable costs, such as for fuel, repairs and service, or for buying new tires, also play a role."

Depreciation or impairment
Your car loses value every day. In the long term, the average depreciation is expected to be ten percent per year. This is significantly higher for new cars, and lower for older vehicles. The greatest loss in value of a car takes place in the first few years after it is put on the market.
This is how expensive car insurance is
All in all, car insurance premiums can amount to a few thousand francs per year. However, these vary from canton to canton. Third-party liability insurance is mandatory, as is comprehensive insurance for leased cars as a rule.
Young drivers pay higher premiums than experienced drivers. Therefore, be sure to compare the offers of different car insurance companies.
