Car purchase garage
Garage owners share their expertise on models and drive options and reveal hidden costs.

Buy a car at the click of a mouse? There are more and more platforms where you can choose the model you want and conclude the purchase contract online.

The new or used vehicle is delivered or made available on the doorstep a few days later. The procedure is as simple as ordering a new sweater.

But when it comes to buying a car, there are many questions: Which make and model suits me? Which drive technology do I prefer? What financing options are available and what are the operating costs? The answers to these questions have to be found independently when buying online.

Garagists are personal contacts

Markus Aegerter, who is responsible for representing the industry on the AGVS Executive Board: "Buying a car is a matter of trust. If you buy a car from a garage, you have a personal contact person you can always turn to. While a test drive is not possible with a contactless online purchase, the vehicle can be inspected and test driven on site at the garagist. It is crucial to have a good driving experience and to be satisfied with the engine performance. Test drives are important whether you're buying a new car or a used one."

Attractive financing models or promotions
Garage owners also show how motorists can drive in an environmentally friendly manner and save money. The positive side effect: an energy-efficient driving style extends the life of the vehicle.

Markus Aegerter: "Customers also benefit from attractive financing models or manufacturer promotions and can trade in their old vehicle. It makes sense to find out about the desired model online in advance and creates transparency. Afterwards, they can benefit from the expertise of the garage and experience emotions during the test drive."
