Showrooms and outdoor sales areas will remain closed for the time being until February 28. Click & Collect, i.e. ordering and picking up goods, is still permitted, however. This also applies to vehicle handovers and test drives, all of which must be contactless.
Test drive and short instruction before the car
Since a vehicle purchase requires personal consultation, clarification of needs and demonstration, the AGVS lobbied the Federal Council and authorities, among others, to open showrooms. Alternatively, on-site consultation should be made possible.
The efforts have paid off in terms of physical advice: As the legal service of the Federal Department of Home Affairs EDI informs the AGVS legal service, a short instruction outside in front of the car is permissible during a test drive. In doing so, the distance and hygiene rules must be observed.
Opening of showrooms and sales areas
This is an important partial success for the AGVS, which continues to fight to ensure that showrooms and sales areas can open as quickly as possible.
Together with Auto-Schweiz and with the support of the Swiss Trade Association, the AGVS is calling for
Federal Councillor Alain Berset as well as the Federal Office of Public Health to stand up for the automotive industry and to continue to enable the contacts with customers that are mandatory for them.
