Auto Zürich: Drive the Honda Type R in a virtual test 🎥
DOUBLE PACK At Auto Zürich, Honda presents the new Type R as a European premiere and other current models. Visitors can also experience the finale of the TCR Swiss Virtual Racing Series powered by Honda live.
The Japanese are presenting themselves at the Auto Zürich Car Show with many innovations and projects. The current generation of the Civic Type R will be presented as a European premiere, and in addition to the new Civic e:HEV, the Honda e and all other e:HEV models will also be on display.
New drive technology and improved aerodynamics
25 years after the first generation, the Type R presents itself with new drive technology and further improved aerodynamics. It adopts the lines of the Civic e:HEV, but sets the bar higher than all previous Type R models in terms of sportiness.
This is due in part to the revised 2-liter VTEC turbocharged engine, which not only offers plenty of power and torque, but also ensures moderate fuel consumption. The engine power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
Information comes in +R mode with lap times
The seats offer more support than ever, and the red carpet further adds to the Type-R feeling. The driver's display presents all the information that is also required on the circuit, including +R mode with the display of lap times and driving data. The new Civic Type R is scheduled for market launch in Switzerland in early 2023, with prices to be announced in December.
Premiere of TCR Swiss Virtual Racing powered by Honda
The European premiere of the Type R will take place twice in Zurich-Oerlikon - once in Hall 2 at the Honda stand, once in Hall 7 at the Sim Racing stand. The TCR Swiss Virtual Racing Series powered by Honda, which is new this year, is one of the four official classes of the nationally registered e-sports championship under the sporting sovereignty of Auto Sport Schweiz.
On Saturday, November 12, the final races of the 2022 Swiss Championship will be held at Auto Zurich. The 48 drivers will compete in groups of 12 in race mode. The winner is the official Swiss champion of the TCR Swiss Virtual Series.
In addition to this title, the winner will also win a day of testing under the guidance and supervision of Honda partner JAS Motorsport on a real race track - with a real racing car, of course.
