With this result, the organizers see themselves confirmed in their plans to further pursue the transformation initiated in 2019 and to underpin it with further investments. The president of the largest car show in German-speaking Switzerland is delighted about this.
Karl Bieri: "The overriding goal is and remains to sustainably anchor Auto Zürich's future viability. Thus, major efforts and investments will be made in the coming months with the aim of meeting the changing requirements of exhibitors and visitors."
Development against general trend
With the results achieved in 2019, Auto Zürich has been highly successful in bucking a supposed trend according to which the format of the motor show was generally seen to be in retreat. Contrary to such prophecies, this year's Auto Zürich has gained massively in popularity compared to previous years.
Focus on alternative drives
One result of these efforts is not only the record number of 44 Swiss premieres (including one world premiere) in itself, but also the fact that the majority of these models are available with electrified or purely electric drive systems.
New format an immediate success
The introduction of the new "Auto Zürich Classic" format was an immediate success and contributed significantly to the pleasing result. Both exhibitors and visitors were enthusiastic.
For the organizers, this result is not only the confirmation of the necessary investments, but also the motivation to work on further development for the coming year.
The 34th edition of the Auto Zürich Car Show will again be held at Messe Zürich from Thursday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8, 2020.
