Auction: 226,000 francs for number ZH 100 after all

ZUSCHLAG The license plate ZH 100 has been auctioned off for a record price. No motorist in the canton of Zurich has ever paid so much for a license plate. However, the nationwide record remains unbroken.

The winning bid for the number ZH 100 goes to the bidder with the name "mistermh". He bid the 226,000 francs shortly before the auction closed on Wednesday and was not outdone, as a look at the auction platform of the Zurich Road Traffic Office shows. Now not only "mistermh" can rejoice but also the Zurich treasury, which will collect the 226,000 francs (AutoSprintCH reported).

No chance for bid over 350 800 francs
A few days ago, the highest bid for ZH 100 was as high as 350,800 francs. However, several bidders turned out to be dubious because they did not have the necessary change. The Road Traffic Office had to stop the auction last Friday and remove these bids. Only then did the office continue the auction, but the bids were then significantly lower.

Old record for ZH number was beaten
The previous record for a Zurich license plate will nevertheless be broken: The most expensive plate to date was ZH 888, which was auctioned off in mid-June for 194,000 francs.

The national record, however, is 233,000 Swiss francs for the Zug number ZG 10, and this record will thus remain even after the auction of ZH 100.
