A word: Distance as a lifesaver

Distance
The distance requirement should also be taken seriously on the roads in the future.

Distance, Corona teaches, is a lifesaver. This is uncanny, because man is a herd animal and therefore instinctively seeks contact with other people. Alone and isolated, one feels neglected and misses the contact with the herd.

Important lesson for the future
But in these times, the only thing that helps is to keep our distance, to isolate ourselves, if we want to remain healthy and defeat the virus. This behavior can certainly be a lesson for the future.

Sounds paradoxical, but the unloved distance can become a life-preserving way of life even after the crisis is over.

Consideration in a community
In traffic, for example. With 187 traffic fatalities last year, Switzerland is one of the safest countries in the world. But if the distance requirement is also taken seriously on the roads in the future, this behavior can save additional lives.

It's not worth it to drive up to within a few meters and risk an accident. In traffic, too, we live in a community where consideration for one's partner is rewarded just as it is when we keep our distance in the checkout line at Migros or the Coop.

The idea that we can only fight the virus together by keeping our distance also saves lives in daily, partner-like behavior in traffic.
