Audi: Markus Duesmann succeeds Bram Schot

The mechanical engineer succeeds Bram Schot, who has held the post since June 2018. Markus Duesmann has been active in the automotive industry for almost three decades, most recently serving as Chief Purchasing Officer at BMW. The 58-year-old Bram Schot is leaving the Group at the end of March on the best of terms.

Leadership in difficult times
Hans Dieter Pötsch "This is in line with his personal long-term plans." He thanked the Dutchman for his commitment: "Bram Schot has put in place everything a premium brand needs in times of transformation."

Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess doubled down: "Bram Schot took over the management of Audi AG in a difficult time, managed the business very successfully and initiated important changes."

Successor to Rupert Stadler
Abraham Schot was employed by Audi following the arrest of Rupert Stadler on June 19, 2018 (AutoSprintCH reports) initially moved to the chief executive position on a transitional basis. In December 2018, the Supervisory Board then appointed him permanent CEO.
