Recall successful
Around two years after the diesel issue became known, the recall can basically be regarded as having been largely mastered. A software update is available for all affected model variants. The company had invited around 175,000 customers to a workshop visit. The vast majority have accepted this invitation, but a few have not yet done so despite multiple invitations.
Reactions positive
Feedback to date shows that the updates are basically running smoothly and that customers who have already carried out the measure are satisfied with the technical solution and have no complaints. With further confidence-building measures, the brands promise their customers that they will address any complaints related to the update on vehicles with type EA189 diesel engines that affect specific parts of the engine and exhaust gas purification system.
Compliant
The responsible regulatory authorities have approved the technical measures/updates for all affected EA 189 vehicles. They have confirmed that the implementation of the measures is not associated with any deterioration in terms of CO2 emission levels, fuel consumption, engine power and torque, and noise emissions.
