Cologna
The most successful Swiss cross-country skier Dario Cologna is already working for the AGVS AutoEnergieCheck service.

Dario Cologna, you have extended your commitment to the AGVS for a further three years up to and including the Olympic Games. Why did you do this?
In addition to my commitment as an AEC ambassador, it is important to me to give something back to Swiss garage owners. I travel a lot for work and therefore drive around 20,000 kilometers by car every year. I rely on my vehicle always being in tip-top condition and getting me to my destination without any breakdowns. My garage does an excellent job.

Is that why you have expanded your role even further and are now campaigning for Swiss garage owners in general?
Exactly! As an AEC ambassador (meaning the AutoEnergieCheck d.R.), I can combine my love of nature with my passion for driving. The AEC shows that this is not a contradiction in terms. Because it helps to save CO2 by using less gasoline. That's sustainability in action. Now I want to stand up for the entire industry - especially for young professionals. I want to show them what can be achieved.

You act as a role model both as an athlete and as an ambassador. What would you like to pass on to professionals?
Both in sport and at work, nothing works without diligence, perseverance and effort. The common drive is the ambition to become better and better, to get ahead and to master future challenges. Added to this are fascination and enthusiasm for what you do. And what you should never forget: everyone starts small - even an Olympic champion (laughs).

But that also applies to established garages, doesn't it? What advice from your experience would you give to the group concerned?
This applies to both automotive apprentices and automotive engineers. Leaning back and resting on your laurels is not an option, because the competition never sleeps and the world keeps on turning. Top results are achieved with solid planning, efficiency and performance - both in top-level sport and in a garage business. Being prepared to break new ground and being open to new ideas are also part of this.

Your official title is AGVS Ambassador for Efficiency and Excellence in Mobility. Have you recharged your batteries this summer?
I'm happy with my summer training and also with the start of the season. I've trained well and my stats are right - now I just have to bring that to the cross-country ski trail
