The diplomas were presented at a dignified ceremony at Lake Hallwil. Peter Baschnagel, President of the Examination Board of the Swiss Automobile Trade Association (AGVS), welcomed the graduates of the higher professional examination.

Peter Baschnagel: "With your performance, you have proven that you have the will to seize new opportunities and break new ground. I would like to encourage you to use your sound knowledge. The automotive industry is dependent on you."

Two third parties passed
The graduates were honored for their outstanding achievements at an atmospheric ceremony at the Seerose Resort & Spa in Meisterschwanden AG. A total of 18 candidates took the exam. Twelve of them passed and eleven made it to the graduation ceremony.

Not only the federally certified business economists in the automotive industry were proud of the awards, but also the representatives of the Swiss Garage Association.

Urs Wernli, Central President of the AGVS: "All those who undergo training and further education in the AGVS - together with the trainers, experts and member companies - contribute to ensuring that broad-based and professionally structured basic and further training remains the backbone of the automotive industry in the future."

Everyone is challenged
Wernli motivated the graduates to face up to the challenges facing the automotive industry. The car is as popular as ever, but a frosty breeze has been blowing since the federal elections. The automotive industry has a duty to make a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gases.

Together with its members, the AGVS is promoting the trend towards alternative drives, emphasized the Central President of the AGSV.

Urs Wernli. "Now it's up to you. I am convinced that we will have a promising future ahead of us if we all strive to use our expertise as responsible and trustworthy mobility service providers."

Highest level of education in the automotive industry
The extra-occupational further education course in business administration in the automotive industry lasts a total of four semesters and comprises nine modules. Only those who have successfully completed the modules, have a federal certificate in the automotive industry or an equivalent qualification and can prove two years of practical experience in an automotive company are admitted to the final examination.

Graduates in business administration in the automotive industry are future managers of garage operations: they are responsible for a modern car dealership with all the associated services. Among other things, they define corporate strategies, manage finances and controlling and position products and services in the automotive market.
