In a calm and objective atmosphere, the ACS Assembly of Delegates took the necessary decisions to bring the club back into calmer waters. In addition to the election of NR Christian Wasserfallen, the members of the Comité de Direction were also elected Julien Broquet (Les Rangiers), René Desbaillets (Genève), Ruth Enzler (Zurich), Peter Hirn (SG/Appenzell), Lorenz Imhof (both Basel), Jean-David Pelot (Vaudoise) and Beat Studer (Schwyz-Uri). The delegates also authorized the Board of Directors to have an independent body investigate all matters relating to the events of recent weeks.
Resolution calls for unity among the sections
The delegates adopted the following resolution: "The vast majority of the sections have today manifested their will to leave the quarrels of the last few days behind them. A new start has been made. The ACS is once again capable of acting. Now is the time to close ranks. In the interests of our club, we are inviting everyone, including those sections that were still on the sidelines today: Stop the arguing. Now is the time to talk! For the good of the Automobile Club of Switzerland. These decisions will ensure that the ACS sections in Switzerland can continue their successful work, which was characterized by a two percent increase in membership throughout Switzerland to almost 110,000 members in the reporting year."
