The Spanish brand Cupra builds particularly dynamic models based on Seat. The SUV coupé Formentor is the first model with a completely independent body.
Cupra demonstrates sportiness on the one hand with dynamic lines, and on the other with 400 Nm and 310 hp in the VZ 2.0 TSI version.
Increase in torque and power
The active suspension was tuned together with racing driver Mattias Ekström, who used to drive for Abt Sportsline in the DTM. The close cooperation between Abt and Cupra has now led the Allgäu-based company to further optimize the sporty performance of the Formentor after the Ateca.
The tuner of vehicles from the VW Group is therefore now launching a torque and power increase to 450 Nm and 370 hp for the Formentor.
Sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 instead of 4.9 seconds
The Abt Engine Control (AEC) control unit is used for this performance upgrade. The increase of 50 Nm and 60 hp is also reflected in the acceleration, so that the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 4.6 seconds instead of 4.9 seconds.
Those who want to add acoustics to this spurt can order a four-pipe Abt exhaust system at the end of the first quarter of 2021. The diameter of the matte black stainless steel tailpipes is an impressive 102 millimeters.
Optional lowering of up to 35 millimeters
Special suspension springs are available on request for the active chassis, which lower the car by up to 35 millimeters all round. Other eye-catchers are the attractive 20-inch light-alloy wheels from Abt Sportsline.
In sum, the vehicle tuner thus offers numerous options to further enhance the fascination of the Formentor.
