Exactly 48 AMAG vehicles were delivered to BAT in Lausanne and Wangen an der Aare at the end of March. The BAT Group is one of the world's leading tobacco companies with brands sold in more than 200 markets and over 50,000 employees worldwide. BAT Switzerland SA is part of the British American Tobacco Group and has been producing tobacco in Switzerland since 1814.

For the field service
The branch in Switzerland employs over 450 people and has a production site in Boncourt (JU) and the headquarters in Lausanne. To ensure that its field staff can travel comfortably and safely, BAT Switzerland SA is strengthening its fleet with around 42 new VW Golf Variant Comfortline 1.6 TDI vehicles. In addition to the economical and 110 hp 1.6 liter diesel units with BlueMotion Technology, the spacious vehicles feature a dual-clutch transmission as well as numerous assistance and safety systems. The customized AMAG fleet also includes three VW Tiguan and three Skoda models.

TCO balance decisive
The good TCO values (total cost of ownership), the high residual value at the end of the intended service life, and the low CO2 emissions of the fleet were decisive factors in the decision in favor of these models. The vehicles were received directly by the field staff at the AMAG Retail branch in Lausanne and in Wangen an der Aare. The "Gölfe" will cover around 30,000 kilometers per year during their three- to four-year service period in the service of British American Tobacco Switzerland SA.
