The spectrum ranges from the sound of Formula 1 to the buzz of electromobility and digital networking. The largest car show in German-speaking Switzerland is moving towards the modern age while at the same time preserving its own tradition.

F1 represented
The Sauber F1 Team returns to the Auto Zurich Car Show. The highlight of the Swiss Formula 1 team is the "fire-ups" of an F1 engine. From Thursday to Sunday, four mechanics from Hinwil will fire up the Sauber F1 Team's V8 engine a total of 15 times. Thursday and Friday at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., Saturday at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday at 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m..

Swissness
The "electric" Formula 1, Formula E, is also represented at Auto Zürich and is raising anticipation for the race in Zurich next June. The three-time world champion team Renault e.dams with Swiss driver Sébastien Buemi is exhibiting its race car in Oerlikon. Visitors will also be able to compete virtually with Buemi on the simulator.

Not only for students
The Swiss are also getting involved in Formula Student under electric power. Among others, the Academic Motorsport Club Zurich (AMZ) presents its all-electric race car, which has been used in various Formula Student races in Europe for seven years.

Electric comes
In Hall 5, the electrical and electronics retailer Euronics will be demonstrating how digitalization and networking will turn the car into a consumer electronics product like the smartphone. Various start-ups such as GOWAGO, CarHelper, ENUU, Microlino, SO-FLOW and Sono Motors will be presenting their ideas in the start-up garage and on the "Road to the Future"; from initial concepts to drivable prototypes.

Special shows and premieres
The special show "From horse-drawn carriages to hydrogen" takes visitors on a journey through time. But despite all the euphoria about the future, the present is not forgotten. In addition to 41 Swiss premieres and the latest innovations from all the major car brands, the many and varied automotive professions will also be making an appearance once again. The "Brain Village" will be taking part for the third time in 2017 and will once again be hosting the professional championships for the automotive professions in the canton of Zurich.

Sponsors present
Main sponsor AutoScout24 is celebrating its 20th anniversary at the Auto Zürich Car Show. As a highlight, the winner of the first-ever "AutoScout24 Young Driver Challenge powered by Seat" will be announced on Thursday. The three finalists Orhan Vouilloz, Oliver Holdener, Gustavo Xavier will be present at Auto Zürich to answer questions from visitors.
