Racing-News: Ricardo Feller is ready for the title 🎥
AND IT CONTINUES Swiss teams still in the points. Ricardo Feller's third place in the DTM round at the Red Bull Ring is particularly valuable. The driver from Aargau thus remains in the title race.
Ricardo Feller is still in the title race after the penultimate round of the DTM at the Red Bull Ring. The driver from Aargau maintained his title chances with places 3 and 15 at Spielberg. His gap to leader Thomas Preining before the finale at Hockenheim is 31 points. Feller is 21 points behind second-placed Mirko Bortolotti. With a maximum of 56 points still up for grabs, nothing is lost yet for Feller.
Feller's performance in the first race was particularly remarkable. There, Ricky showed a sensational recovery from 26th on the grid and resolutely defended third place against Rene Rast in the final phase.
Abt driver Ricardo Feller: "That was tough, especially at the end with Rene. The BMW is so brutally fast on the straights, it's insane. It wasn't easy to leave him behind me."
Subject car tech well in shot
The drivers from Fach Auto Tech (center gallery) also picked up points in the 14th round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland season in Spielberg. Morris Schuring achieved a 13th as well as a fourth place. There were also points for Jasin Ferati. The rookie driver, who took fourth place on Saturday, finished third in the rookie classification the following day. Alexander Fach took two top-10 finishes with him ¡n Switzerland.
Emil Frey Racing (gallery on the right) was not able to achieve the results on the track of its partner Red Bull as initially hoped, but had a conciliatory finish with two top-10 results.
Louis Delétraz on the podium
There were also Swiss podium finishes to celebrate in the European Le Mans Series at Spa-Francorchamps. Louis Delétraz has almost become a tradition. The Geneva native finished third with his Racing Team Turkey, while Alexandre Coigny and Team Cool Racing did even better. The 48-year-old from Dully was second overall and winner in the LMP2 ProAm classification (ahead of Delétraz). In addition, Team Cool Racing also won the LMP3 class with the trio Chila/Sibert/Garcia.
First point for Dario Cabanelas
There is also a success story from Dario Cabanelas (gallery left). The driver from Vaud, who represented Switzerland in the Formula 4 category at last year's FIA Motorsport Games, scored his first point on his debut in Eurocup-3 on his very first race weekend in Jerez.
Marcel Steiner put a nice finishing touch to a successful season. The 2023 Swiss mountain champion finished second behind Christian Merli at the race in St.Agatha, Austria. Steiner lost 1.1 seconds to the South Tyrolean in the addition of the two race heats.
