Volkswagen: Generation three of the model student 🎥

WORLD PREMIERE Volkswagen shows the completely newly developed Tiguan - already the third generation. Since its launch in 2007, the SUV has been one of the world's most successful contemporary VW models.

So far, more than 7.6 million buyers have opted for VW's compact SUV, and the new edition will go on sale in the first quarter of next year.

Kai Grünitz, Brand Board Member for Technical Development at VW, says: "The latest evolutionary stage of the modular transverse matrix, the MQB evo, forms the technical basis of the third Tiguan generation. Thanks to the great economies of scale of the MQB evo, Volkswagen is democratizing numerous high-tech developments such as the DCC Pro or the new hybrid drives with an electric range of around 100 kilometers."

The Tiguan has been completely revamped, but remains true to its familiar appearance.

DC fast charging as standard

AC charging will become faster in all eHybrid versions, and DC fast charging is to be available as standard for the first time. The new-generation digital cockpit offers maximum information and brings digital services and apps on board. In addition, new systems such as a pneumatic massage function for the front seats or the IQ.Light - HD matrix headlights used for the first time in the Tiguan have been derived from the top-of-the-range Touareg model.

Drive types according to your wishes

Thanks to MQB evo, various drive types can be realized in the Tiguan. For example, there will be turbo diesel engines, turbo gasoline engines, mild hybrid turbo gasoline engines and plug-in hybrid systems, which will in future be offered exclusively in conjunction with an automated manual transmission. As with the ID models and the new Passat, the gearshift will in future be selected via a steering column lever to the right of the steering wheel. An electronically controlled chassis ensures greater comfort and dynamics. In addition to numerous individual measures, Volkswagen has redesigned the DCC adaptive chassis control system.

Larger trunk holds 652 liters

The Tiguan III grows in length by around three centimeters. Height, width and wheelbase remain almost the same as in the predecessor. The trunk volume of the new generation shows just how good the use of space is. Although the new model is only slightly longer, its trunk volume has increased by 37 liters to 652 liters.
