BYD: Yangwang with 1000 kilometer range 🎥
PREMIERE Chinese electric car and battery manufacturer BYD launches the U8 Premium Edition off-roader under the new Yangwang sub-brand. The range of this SUV is said to be up to 1000 kilometers.
The Yangwang U8 Premium Edition comes with two fundamentally new technology solutions, the e4 platform and the Di-Sus-P body and chassis system. The new platform forms the basis for the all-wheel drive system with four individual, independently controllable electric motors. This is said to result in outstanding safety and traction characteristics.
BYD states 882 kW as total output, which corresponds to about 1200 hp. From a standstill, the heavy vehicle accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The Di-Sus-P chassis system improves agility and traction in all driving modes. In particular, it reduces the risk of rollover in difficult driving situations.
SUV for demanding off-road drivers
The U8 Premium Edition supports fast charging up to 110 kW and allows recharging from 30 to 80 percent in 18 minutes. Its 6 kW charging facility allows power supply for electrical appliances for up to 25 hours. The so-called Blade Battery developed by BYD promises 5000 charging cycles or more than 1.2 million kilometers of driving distance.
The U8 premium vehicle presented under the new Yangwang brand is currently being unveiled to the public at dealerships in the major centers of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu. First deliveries in China are scheduled for October.
