Porsche: 911 Carrera comes as Autobot Mirage 🎥

SPECTACLE PUR These days, the new Transformers movie, Rise of the Beasts, is hitting theaters. One of the film's main characters, the Autobot Mirage, is a Porsche - more precisely, a historic 911 Carrera RS 3.8.

The new film should and will delight moviegoers from all over the world. It takes viewers on a journey around the world and through the 90s. While the Autobots meet a new breed of Transformers, the Maximals, the battle between the opposing teams of Autobots and Decepticons goes into the next round. This ushers in a completely new Transformers era.

911 Carrera RS 3.8, a rough guy

The Autobot Mirage, in the form of the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 series 964, ensures that the Transformers join forces for battle. At the side of Optimus Prime he fights for good.

Oliver Hoffmann, Head of Marketing Communications at Porsche AG: "The 911 Carrera RS 3.8 is a perfect fit not only because the film is set in 1994, but also because of Mirage's character traits. Porsche built a total of only 55 examples of the 911 Carrera RS 3.8. That makes it a particularly exclusive historic vehicle for the brand."

Doubles for different actions

Therefore, no original was used for the film production, but five film cars were built that look exactly like the 964 from the outside. However, to create the authentic sound for Mirage, the engine noise of the original vehicle was used.

Each of the film cars performed special functions. For example, one vehicle was modified to drive backwards at high speed. Another was prepared for stunt scenes, while a third was controlled from the outside for scenes in which the actor is in focus inside the car.

Irene Trachtenberg, senior vice president worldwide marketing partnerships at Paramount, said, "We are thrilled to be working with the Porsche team on this extensive partnership. It has brought our Autobot Mirage to life in an iconic and memorable way, showcasing the heroic personality of both the bot and the vehicle."
