Peugeot: Start in the hypercar class with the 9X8 🎥

CHALLENGE Team Peugeot Total Energies contests its first racing season at Sebring, USA, on March 17. All six manufacturers in the hypercar class face tough races - Peugeot has defined clear goals.

In a week's time, Team Peugeot Total Energies will kick off the eleventh season of the FIA World Endurance Championship at the Sebring race track. It will be the first appearance of the Peugeot 9X8 on American soil. With the experience gained from the three races in 2022 as well as from the 10,000 kilometers covered in winter tests, the 9X8 has been technically further developed.

Jean-Marc Finot, Senior Vice President Stellantis Motorsport: "We have covered a lot of miles to improve the car's performance and validate its reliability. The team is ready and we are now looking forward to the start of the season. We are really proud to be part of the championship and to compete against big manufacturers and names in endurance racing."

This season will be fiercely competitive, as some of the world's biggest manufacturers will be competing in the Le Mans hypercar class. The goal for Team Peugeot Total Energies is clear: to win. The prologue, also in Florida, will take place on March 11 and 12 before the first race of the FIA WEC season. These tests will allow the drivers and the team to become better acquainted with the special features of the track. The line-up of the two Peugeot 9X8s remains unchanged with Paul Di Resta, Mikkel Jensen and Jean-Eric Vergne at the wheel of the #93 9X8 and Loïc Duval, Gustavo Menezes and Nico Müller in the #94 9X8.

The Le Mans anniversary is all about winning

Nico Müller, representing Switzerland: "Since the last race of the season in Bahrain, we have spent time in the simulator and completed some tests during the winter. 2023 will be a golden era in the world of racing cars. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Fighting for victory there will definitely be the top goal. I'm proud to be part of Team Peugeot Total Energies' first full WEC season. Hopefully we'll be right up there at the front."
