Auction: Black On Black Collection under the hammer
RARE A collector's Black On Black Collection consisting of five Ferrari Testarossas and 512 models will change hands at Sotheby's auction next May at hefty prices.
After a three-year break, RM Sotheby's returns to Lake Como. On May 20, five black Ferraris will go on sale at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. A well-heeled enthusiast's Black On Black Collection includes a 1996 Ferrari F512 M with legendary 180-degree V12 and 434 horsepower. It is expected to be priced between 230,000 and 300,000 euros. The 1992 512 TR with Pininfarina design elements is expected to fetch between 180,000 and 250,000 euros.
Rare opportunity for collectors
A Testarossa was an icon of the 1980s with striking body design. The 1987 Testarossa Monodado is expected to sell for 120,000 to 180,000 euros, and a 1989 Testarossa with a 4.9-liter V12 is estimated by auctioneers to sell for 100,000 150,000 euros.
Expert Stephan Knobloch says, "We are delighted to have such a Ferrari collection here. For me, a black Testarossa is the ultimate model choice, and five examples at once represent a rare opportunity."
