24H Dubai: Strong performance by the Swiss teams 🎥

SUCCESS The first race weekend of the year was a great success from a Swiss perspective, especially with a view to the Dubai 24 Hours. Daniel Allemann almost won for the second time.

Not much was missing and Switzerland could have celebrated its third overall victory at the Dubai 24 Hours after 2014 and 2017. Thanks to a sensational performance from Team Herberth Motorsport, Daniel Allemann and his teammates Ralf Bohn and Alfred and Robert Renauer crossed the finish line in second place overall. The fastest Porsche was just over half a minute behind the winning BMW of the WRT team from Belgium. With a five-lap lead, the second-place finish also meant a clear class win in the ProAM standings.

Fach Auto Tech celebrated a double victory in the 992 class.

Double victory for racers from Fach Auto Tech

In addition to P2 for Allemann, there was even more reason to cheer from a Swiss perspective in Dubai. Fach Auto Tech celebrated a double victory in the 992 class, with the Porsche driven by the three Swiss drivers Alexander Fach, Peter Hegglin and Jan Klingelnberg crossing the finish line in second place, three laps behind the winning Fach Porsche with the #962.

Team boss Alex Fach: "That was a really strong team performance. We gave everything for 24 hours and were rewarded with a double victory - we're really happy about that. Our goal was to stand at the top of the podium, and we achieved it. The 992 was the biggest class in the field and also strongly contested, so we can be very proud of this performance."

Strong performance by Yannick and Miklas

Yannick Mettler and Miklas Born also took a commanding victory in the touring car category. The duo distanced the second-placed TCR Audi from Wolf Power Racing by 50 laps. Third place went to Jasmin Preisig (also Wolf Power Racing). The TCX also saw a winner with a Swiss license in Patrick Grütter. For Nicolas Nobs, the race ended with a third class place in GTX.
