Young talent: Apply now for Young Drivers

The project, which was already open to numerous young racing drivers between 2013 and 2015, enables ambitious young talents to make the leap from karting to automobile racing. If you convince the jury, you might soon be able to join and show your talent in automobile racing

Testing in the autobau world of experience
In the 2023 season, the Young Drivers Project is aimed at all kart drivers licensed in Switzerland born in 2006, 2007 and 2008. This talent screening is free of charge for the four champions in the autobau Swiss Kart Championship (OK Junior, X30 Challenge Switzerland, OK Senior and KZ2; provided they are between 14 and 16 years old). All other pilots from this and other approved kart series can also participate in the sighting for a fee.

Ranking according to a points system
Making the leap into automotive racing requires more than just driving talent. Fitness and dealing with the media are two equally important factors that are worked on during the project with professional fitness and media trainers.

A jury team of experts and well-known pilots observes and evaluates the performances of the 14- to 16-year-old pilots. Using a points system, the jury draws up a ranking list for the current season.

It's not just speed that counts, but also character, ability and knowledge. Those who hold their own in the various categories and convince the jury of their merits receive the Young Drivers Kart Award and will be able to contest a season in a junior series in 2024 together with Jenzer Motorsport (center gallery).

Financial participation required
The necessary financial resources for the racing season are partly covered by sponsorship, but also require a financial contribution from the rider, team and personal sponsors.

Anyone wishing to take part in the Young Drivers Project 2023 can register by January 31, 2023. The registration takes place directly on www.motorsport.ch. All licensed kart drivers born between 2006 and 2008 (National and International level) will be contacted separately.

Presentation and discussion evening
The sustainable youth project of Auto Sport Schweiz starts for all those who have registered with a presentation and a discussion evening in mid-February. The first media and fitness day is then scheduled for early March. A sighting day in a Formula 4 car from Jenzer Motorsport in October 2023 will conclude the training program.
