Honda: King in the front-wheel drive class 🎥

SPORTICONE Honda now offers a Type R again in parallel with the base model Civic with e-HEV hybrid drive. The model with the most powerful VTEC turbocharged engine in Civic Type R history now delivers 329 hp.

The Honda Civic has also been available in the Type R sports version since 1997. Now the coveted sixth-generation model is coming to dealerships - and probably won't be there for long, because the first delivery for Switzerland means that only just 60 units will go on sale for the time being.

With the Civic Type R, Honda is once again focusing on driving fun with unrestricted everyday usability at the same time.

Good gets even better with the new
As is usual with some long-running enthusiast models, the next generation always brings further development in terms of drive performance and driving dynamics. This is also the case in the Civic Type R. 329 hp at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 420 Nm, available between 2200 and 4000 rpm, bring even faster acceleration and more top speed. After 5.4 seconds, 100 km/h is reached, and a top speed of 275 km/h is possible.

Modest weight of 1430 kilograms
Honda knows exactly what is needed in addition to a powerful engine to generate maximum driving pleasure. For example, the manual transmission, six-speed and perfectly precise shifting, the driving modes designed to suit the application - Comfort, Sport, +R and Individual - and finally also the modest weight of 1430 kilograms. In addition, the newly designed rev-match function and the lighter flywheel further optimize power transmission.

The Type R masters the front-wheel drive concept, which is fundamentally not optimal from a racing point of view, with a further optimized front suspension, with even stiffer steering and also with new dimensions: Type R generation six is wider and lower than its predecessor and incorporates several new aerodynamic components made of lightweight materials and designed for high dynamics.

Perfect handling on road and track
With its three driving modes, the new Honda is prepared for journeys of any kind. On public roads, it pleases with superior driving dynamics and a high level of comfort at the same time. On the racetrack, it also shows that its powertrain and chassis are well equipped for fast laps - and that the components can withstand more than just two laps of maximum stress. It even cuts a good figure on a wet track despite the concept's significant top-heaviness.

Inside, the Type R boasts plenty of red accents, comfortable sport seats and hassle-free controls. The on-board LogR data logger enables a scoring function that allows the driver to improve his performance on the race track. In addition, Honda offers a range of accessories and packages.

The Civic Type R will be available from January for 57,990 Swiss francs.
