Nissan: This is what the new X-Trail offers 🎥

FOR THE FAMILY The current X-Trail from Nissan may outwardly bear all the hallmarks of the much-criticized Sport Utilities, but in official parlance the five- to seven-seater drives forward as a crossover.

The price list for the X-Trail with 1.5 VC-T E-Power powertrain starts at 39,900 francs.
The X-Trail with e-Power and e-4Force is available from 49,990 Swiss francs. For the top model in the
Tekna+ equipment, at least 57,690 francs change hands.

The new generation X-Trail comes to Switzerland in the basic version as a mild hybrid with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder front-wheel drive with 204 hp and continuously variable drive by an electric motor. In addition, and these are to be the volume versions, the crossover is launching as the manufacturer's second model with the e-Power hybrid drive and all-wheel drive.

In this combination, the gasoline engine is exclusively responsible for generating electricity - the propulsion of the front-wheel drive is the sole responsibility of the e-drive, which, however, only has a limited purely electric range.

Combined power with e-4Force produces 214 hp
For the top versions, Nissan offers the e-Power with e-4Force combination, in which a 100 kW electric motor drives the rear axle. The total output of the pact thus grows to 214 hp (157 kW). The drive proved to be quite agile during a first drive and spared the person behind the steering wheel and the passengers from the annoying rubber band effect that many hybrid models still suffer from.

More traction in rain, snow and ice
Now, the critical observer may ask why a family crossover needs all-wheel drive, but perhaps one or the other family group does go on an off-road adventure tour. However, the additional drive also brings more traction in rain, snow and ice.

The system reacts to the different driving situations without the occupants noticing. However, the steering could work a bit more precisely. The X-Trail is also good off-road thanks to the settings adapted to the surfaces.

Chassis and seats offer plenty of comfort
On the road, the X-Trail is a pleasantly quiet family transporter. The chassis and also the seats are clearly tuned for comfort. The interior is prepared in such a way that the family can feel comfortable on a long drive.

The fine materials are cleanly finished and the numerous assistance systems, which can be controlled via the screen, support the driver, who would, however, like more than just a clearly intervening recuperation option. While most hybrid models offer several settings for recovering braking energy, the X-Trail owner has to settle for one option.

In the city, the crossover can be controlled with the accelerator pedal alone (perhaps to compensate) and thus decelerates to a standstill before traffic lights, for example. Nissan promises consumption of 6.2 to 6.7 liters. After driving on the highway, country road and small secondary roads, the on-board computer reported 6.7 liters. Fits.
