Audi: From Dakar to Davos 🎥
STRONG TYPES Power meeting in the Swiss mountains. In Davos, racing drivers Mattias Ekström and Nico Müller showed that you can be very sporty on the road in an e-tron model with the four rings.
In addition to the RS e-tron GT, the RS Q e-tron, which caused a stir among experts at the Dakar Rally in January 2022 with its innovative drive concept, was a particular eye-catcher. Mattias Ekström and his co-driver Emil Bergquist decided four of 13 stages for themselves and their rally electric car. A strong performance.
Victory at the Dakar 2023 is the clear goal
Mattias Ekström: "Clear proof that electric mobility and Audi's slogan 'Vorsprung durch Technik' also work at the world's toughest rally and under extreme conditions. You'll be hearing a lot more from us. Preparations for the next race are already in full swing. After this performance at the first participation, overall victory at the next Dakar in 2023 is clearly our goal."
Always be one step ahead of others
And Nico Müller, who competes in the DTM and endurance races, has similar plans.
Nico Müller: "Of course I'm thinking about winning the DTM. For me, 'Vorsprung durch Technik' means, above all, always being one step ahead of the others. In racing, that means the driver has to work perfectly together with the technology. This is the only way to gain an advantage and then win the race. Audi brings this mentality from the race track to the road and shows that with constant striving for innovation and further development you can also give the customer an advantage and put a smile on his face."
Torque and brutal driving performance
And what about sustainability?
Nico Müller: "Thanks to Audi's intelligent recuperation system, you don't simply destroy energy when braking but recharge the battery, which simply gives you a good feeling. On the other hand, the RS e-tron GT in particular is also a real sports car. The torque in an electric car, the almost brutal performance and the low center of gravity - this combination opens up a whole new world for you and is unique."
