The official racing debut of the Porsche 963 is scheduled for 2023 at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Driver lineup for the 2023 season
Along with the livery and performance data, Porsche, which teams up with US traditional racing team Penske, has also announced the driver line-up for the WEC and IMSA series.

Factory drivers Kévin Estre (France), Michael Christensen (Denmark), André Lotterer (Germany), Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium), Matt Campbell (Australia), Mathieu Jaminet (France) and newcomers Dane Cameron (USA) and Felipe Nasr (Brazil) compete in the WEC as well as in IMSA, with additional drivers joining them in the US endurance races, including development driver Fred Makowiecki.

At its heart is a 4.6-liter V8
The Stuttgart-based company is collaborating with the high-tech company Multimatic on the newly developed vehicle base. The standard hybrid components are supplied by Bosch, Williams Advanced Engineering and Xtrac.

At the heart of the powertrain is a 4.6-liter V8 biturbo. The engine's foundations come from the high-performance 918 Spyder hybrid sports car. Its DNA goes back to the RS Spyder race car, with which Porsche and Team Penske celebrated numerous successes from 2005 to 2008.
