Land Rover: This is the next Range Rover Sport 🎥

STRONG RISE Just over 50 years ago, Land Rover united two seemingly incompatible elements and introduced a new category of off-road vehicle with the Range Rover. Now the third generation of the Sport.

These features are packaged in a muscular design that makes its dynamic characteristics clear even when stationary. Short overhangs at the front and rear, coupled with a generously dimensioned wheelbase and a roofline that slopes to the rear, seem to say to the observer: "I'm not here to play."

The front end is dominated by three horizontal elements, while a line running from the front to the rear adds extra verve. Thanks to the extending door handles, the smooth silhouette is not disturbed.

Finally, the shoulder line ends in an integrated spoiler at the rear. The detailed work has paid off. The Range Rover Sport achieves a drag coefficient of 0.29.

Sustainability is in the foreground
In the interior, customers are greeted by high-quality materials that were selected with sustainability in mind. Of course, fine leather is still on the equipment list, but materials made from recycled PET bottles are also used.

The seats can be adjusted to suit the individual wishes of the customer, and the instruments including the 13-inch central monitor are clearly arranged. The same applies to the remaining switches and controls.

Newly developed dynamic air suspension
Standard equipment includes the newly developed dynamic air suspension, which for the first time is equipped with an adjustable volume and can prepare itself for the road conditions by means of the connection to the navigation system. The Dynamics 2 adaptive chassis checks the road surface 500 times a second to provide impulses for optimum damper adjustment.

ZF 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive
The developers entrusted power transmission to ZF's eight-speed automatic transmission including iAWD intelligent all-wheel drive, which constantly analyzes how much traction is required and where, and adjusts the systems accordingly.

A new feature is adaptive cruise control for off-road driving, which makes its debut in the Range Rover Sport. This adapts the speed to the prevailing conditions. Even though customers will be venturing into really tough terrain, it's reassuring to know that the Range Rover Sport can handle 45-degree inclines.

Electric range of up to 88 kilometers
Even a sports car has to bow to the new age, which is why the Range Rover Sport now also comes with a plug-in hybrid drive. Together with a six-cylinder engine, this produces 510 hp and is said to enable an electric range of 88 kilometers. A weaker version offers 440 hp.

At the top of the model range is the 4.4-liter V8 currently popular with customers, which produces 530 hp and accelerates the Sport from zero to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

The engine range is rounded off by mildly hybridized six-cylinder gasoline and diesel units. An all-electric Range Rover Sport will also roll out in two years.
