Alfa Romeo: Tonale is the name of the SUV offspring 🎥
SYMBOL FOR CHANGE The Alfa Romeo Tonale represents the realignment of the brand from Arese. Against the backdrop of a long tradition, Alfa Romeo is now consistently taking the path toward connectivity and electrification.
The all-wheel-drive Tonale Plug-in Hybrid Q4 is the most powerful model in the range with 275 hp (202 kW).
The new Alfa Romeo Tonale has a clear mission: to reinvent sportiness in 21st century style. Like Stelvio, the name Tonale comes from an Italian Alpine pass. The Alfa Tonale is the first production vehicle whose entire life cycle is recorded with a digital certificate.
Integration of the Amazon Alexa voice assistant
The new Alfa offers connectivity at a high level, with its infotainment system enabling over-the-air updates and integration of the Amazon Alexa voice assistant.
Typical of the Tonale are the alloy wheels in five-hole design, the instrument cluster in the telescopic instrument panel, the three-spoke sports steering wheel and the headlights, each with three semi-circular lamps.
With compact dimensions of 4.53 meters in length, 1.84 meters in width and 1.60 meters in height, the compact SUV combines Italian design with brand-typical style.
Drive range from 130 up to 275 hp output
Alfa offers a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid model. The 48-volt hybrid can already be driven electrically. The system combines a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine with 160 hp (118 kW) with a 15 kW electric motor. A 130 hp (96 kW) (powerful hybrid version is also available at market launch, also combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
With 275 hp (202 kW), the all-wheel drive Tonale Plug-in Hybrid Q4 is the most powerful model in the series. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and achieves an all-electric range of up to 60 kilometers in city traffic.
The engine range of the new Alfa Romeo Tonale is rounded off by a 1.6-liter turbodiesel that produces 130 hp (96 kW).
New driver assistance systems as desired
Of course, the new model also features a whole range of driver assistance systems. These include Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, lane departure warning and traffic jam assist.
Emergency Brake Assist activates the brakes in an emergency to avoid or mitigate a collision. And the rear cross-motion detector detects vehicles approaching from the side when reversing and warns of them.
The new Tonale will be available to order from April as a special Edizione Speciale model, with market launch in the second quarter.
