KTM: racer for the road
FOR EXPERIENCED FANS After winning the GT2 European Series title with Sportec Racing, the fast KTM X-Bow GT2 is now to get a road-going derivative. The know-how gathered in motorsport flows directly into the vehicle.
The basis for the planned road model is the KTM X-Bow GT2, which celebrated its racing premiere in 2021. The developers of the new version are working hand in hand with racing protagonists in an extensive research and development process. The process includes performance tests, crash tests and initial test drives in Europe.
Reinforced roof offers more protection
During development, the focus is on lightweight construction, which is achieved through optimized components and an outer skin made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP). In terms of safety, the developers rely on the established carbon monocoque. A reinforced roof provides additional protection for the occupants.
Extreme power-to-weight ratio and 600 hp
The KTM X-Bow GT2 is powered by Audi's 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 720 Nm and 600 hp delivered by the racing engine reach the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.
KTM Sportcar GmbH will announce when the road-going version of the X-Bow GT2 will be launched, as well as details such as engine performance and acceleration values, at a later date.
