Hydrogen: The alternative is gaining momentum

Schwab-Guillod in Müntschemier has opened Switzerland's first private hydrogen filling station. The H2 station of the Swiss SME from the Bernese Seeland is now open to the public for passenger cars and commercial vehicles with hydrogen electric drive.
Switzerland as H2 technology pioneer
Schwab-Guillod has been on the road since December 2020 with a 36-ton trailer tractor powered by fuel cells. After ten months, the counter of the Hyundai Xcient Fuel Cell already shows more than 80,000 kilometers.
Now, with the opening of its own hydrogen filling station, the next step is being taken to further promote this clean form of electromobility.
CEO Reto Schwab: "In the introduction of this technology, we see Switzerland as a pioneer. No other country can build on such a well-established hydrogen eco-cycle - from production to filling stations to commercial vehicles."
Rapid refueling and long range
Hydrogen electric vehicles offer the convenience of all-electric propulsion, without CO2 emissions or other pollutants. Added to this are the advantages of rapid refueling, long range and the certainty that only green hydrogen will be delivered in Switzerland.
Customers with a hydrogen passenger vehicle can refuel seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and pay without cash. For customers and transport companies with heavy commercial vehicles, the filling station is available around the clock.
