Renault: City bus with hydrogen in test

CARBON-FREE MOBILITY With the H2-Tech platform and the Master City Bus H2-Tech, the Renault joint venture Hyvia presents two prototypes for locally emission-free electric mobility with hydrogen fuel cells.

City bus hydrogen
Renault-Hyvia's locally emission-free fuel cell city bus will hit the road next year.

The two Renault Masters that Hyvia will launch from 2022 are equipped with a 30 kW fuel cell in addition to the electric motor and 33 kWh battery. Therefore, they can be refueled in just five minutes.

CEO David Holderbach: "Hyvia is about concrete solutions to meet the challenges of green hydrogen mobility and decarbonization of transport."

Chassis or city bus as required
The new Master H2-Tech celebrates its premiere at the transport trade fair Solutrans until November 20 in Lyon. The variant with platform chassis enables ranges of around 250 kilometers and offers numerous options for customized conversions.

The two tanks each hold 1.5 kilograms of hydrogen at 700 bar. The City Bus H2-Tech for urban traffic can carry up to 15 passengers - nine seated, six standing. It is also suitable for wheelchair users.

Ecosystem for carbon-free mobility
The Master H2-Tech platform and the Master City Bus H2-Tech are part of the comprehensive Hyvia ecosystem for carbon-free mobility. This also includes the Master H2-Tech panel van, launched in October, and a newly developed hydrogen refueling station. The hydrogen is either produced on site by water electrolysis or delivered by tank trailers.
