Industry: Bergé Auto strengthens activities
FUTURE Many garages get a new importer. The Bergé Auto group will be responsible for importing Nissan and the Stellantis brands Abarth, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep as well as Fiat Professional into Switzerland.
If the Swiss Competition Commission agrees, the Spanish group Bergé Auto will massively expand its position in Switzerland. Board member Jaime Gorbeña has reached an agreement with Stellantis for the company to take over the distribution business of the Abarth, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep and Fiat Professional brands in Switzerland.
Responsibility for business of FCA Switzerland
Upon completion of the transaction, Bergé Auto will assume responsibility for all activities of FCA Switzerland and transfer the current employees. The FCA Motor Village in Geneva is not part of the transaction and the retail activities in Geneva will also remain under the supervision of Stellantis.
Experience in the area of digital transformation
Bergé Auto intends to rely on the experience and extensive know-how of the local team. With the operational integration of the Swiss business of the five Stellantis brands, the Spaniards, who started in this country in 2019 with the acquisition of Hyundai Import, are massively expanding their presence.
Jorge Navea, CEO of Bergé Auto: "We are delighted that Bergé Auto has been able to sign an agreement with Stellantis, consolidating our long-standing relationship that spans seven markets worldwide. The addition of Switzerland to our portfolio will undoubtedly expand the scope of our business in the highly competitive European market. With our extensive experience in digital transformation and the new mobility ecosystem, we are firmly committed to driving long-term growth for the brands and the dealer network."
Responsibility for Nissan Switzerland from 2022
As if that were not enough, Bergé Auto will also be responsible as an importer of new Nissan vehicles, parts and services in Switzerland as of February 2022. For Austria, the Spaniards and Nissan are working to conclude a contract in the coming weeks as well. The transfer of operations to Bergé Auto is expected to take place shortly after the completion of the transfer of the Swiss operations.
