Toyota: First model of the new brand bZ 🎥
BEYOND ZERO Toyota presents the world premiere of the new front-wheel or all-wheel drive SUV bZ4X, the first model in a series of battery electric vehicles (BEV) of the new sub-brand bZ - beyond Zero.
The 71-kWh battery of the bZ4X SUV enables a range of more than 450 kilometers.
In terms of design and technology, the production version of the Toyota bZ4X corresponds to the concept predecessor presented earlier in the year. It is therefore the first vehicle based on Toyota's special BEV platform.
Joint development with Subaru
Based on the e-TNGA philosophy, this is a joint development of Subaru and Toyota. The arrangement of the battery pack under the floor of the car brings advantages such as a low center of gravity, balanced weight distribution and a rigid body.
The bZ4X is a spacious, comfortable SUV with a new all-wheel drive system that offers the best off-road characteristics with its two engines. The long wheelbase provides a comfortable amount of space in the five-seater cabin and a generous load capacity.
Reservations possible from December
The bZ4X with front-wheel drive is powered by a 150 kW electric motor and has a maximum torque of 265 Nm. This enables the Japanese car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and the top speed is limited to 160 km/h. The 4×4 version has a maximum output of 160 kW and makes 336 Nm available.
The 71 kWh battery enables a range of more than 450 kilometers. It can be charged up to 80 percent in around 30 minutes at the fast charging station (150 kW). An 11 kW three-phase on-board charger will be available from the fourth quarter of 2022.
The bZ4X will celebrate its European premiere on December 2, 2021, followed shortly thereafter by an online reservation option for customers who want to be among the first owners.
