About G: Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet
The luxury Mercedes sub-brand is showing an off-road vehicle for the first time in Geneva. Limited to 99 units, the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet has a V12 engine, portal axles and comfortable first-class reclining seats in the rear thanks to an extended wheelbase. So far, the Mercedes-Maybach sub-brand had chosen an S-Class and an S-Class convertible for refinement, and now a third model, the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet, follows with the G-Class off-road icon. As you might expect, the Über-G goes beyond the usual bounds, in terms of size, equipment and appearance. With a wheelbase extended by more than half a meter to over 3.4 meters and a length of 5.35 meters, the necessary space is available for the interior fittings to be luxurious to the desired degree. And these make you think you're traveling in a first-class compartment of a business jet, which is of course exactly what Mercedes-Maybach intended. In the rear, two individual seats from the S-Class are installed, with every conceivable comfort feature, such as a x-fold adjustment option up to the reclining position, massage, ventilation and, of course, heating. An electrically operated soft top stretches over the rear seats and, at the touch of a button, reveals the sky above. With portal axles, the G650 has just under half a meter of ground clearance, but also reaches a height of 2.23 meters - so it's not a case for the conventional underground car park. For the powertrain, Mercedes-Maybach installs the AMG V12 with 6.0-liter displacement, biturbo charging, which offers 630 hp and a maximum torque of a massive 1000 Nm.
