Love Ride: 25 years of commitment to greater mobility

Shortly after its inauguration on May 1, 1993, the Love Ride Switzerland grew into a major event that became known not only nationwide, but also beyond the country's borders. Already the third edition took place, thanks to the support of the then Federal Councilor Adolf Ogi, at the airfield in Dübendorf ZH and one counted about 5000 visitors and 2500 motorcycles. The amount donated was a remarkable 175,000 Swiss francs. To this day, the recipe for success remains the same: have fun and do good at the same time. The donations collected are used to give those affected more mobility. After all, most of them, including many children, are confined to a wheelchair and depend on intensive care and attention every day.
Only thanks to sidecars and trikes
For many bikers as well as visitors with a muscular disease or a disability, the ride out - the approximately 60-kilometer-long ride - is central at the Love Ride. Those affected who want to ride along can simply look for a free sidecar or trike in the first of a total of ten blocks of up to 500 bikes. Helmets will be distributed and numerous Love Ride helpers will ensure that those affected get into the sidecars or back into their wheelchairs. The important thing is: The more riders of sidecars and trikes attend the Love Ride, the greater the chance that all those affected will be able to ride.
Main act with Krokus singer Marc Storace
Five bands rock out on the big stage for the anniversary. The highlight this time is the Swiss rock group "Callaway" with special guest Marc Storace, the lead singer of Krokus. Those who want to see them live should be in front of the stage at 3:30 pm. For the anniversary, of course, special attractions may not be missing. That's why this time not only motorcycles flying through the air will provide thrilling moments, but also two different air shows: both the PC7 team and the Super Puma display show guarantee high voltage. As always, children will also be catered for - thanks to Circus Balloni and Hampi's play bus, they won't be bored either.
